Shey Phoksundo Tour is an adventurous trek to the deepest lake of Nepal.  Lake is a glacial freshwater lake. It is located in the Shey-Phoksundo national park, the largest national park of Nepal, at an altitude of 3,611.5 m in the Dolpa District of the Himalayan belt. The water volume of this lake is 409,000,000 cubic metres and is 1.91 sq mi in size.  With a depth of 446.9 ft, Phoksundo lake is marked as the deepest lake of Nepal. There are 20 stupas in the southern part of the lake and one gompa on the east side. Tibetan culture prevails in the upper Dolpa whereas Buddhism is followed in the lower regions, providing huge religious significance.

The lake and the national park is inhabited by rare plants and animals including Snow leopard, Tibetan wolves, Himalayan bear, goral, leopard, a few reptiles and musk deer. It is filled with alpine plants such as Juniper, Rhododendron, and caragana shrubs are seen. The diverse landscape, floras and faunas attract a massive number of tourists. The highest waterfall of Nepal lies in the lake outlet, which is also a major touristic site. It compares to the most panoramic scenes of other parts of the countries, given its turquoise dazzling lake water and the view of mountain ranges.

The winters are pretty cool and severe as it snows heavily. And it gets a minimal 1500mm of rainfall in the monsoon. Hence, autumn and spring are suitable times to travel. The breathtaking scenery of the snow-capped mountains is really satisfying. Various small accommodations like lodges and homestays are available in Dunai, Ringmo, Sangta and Chhepka. Even the camping sites are available in the national park with toilets and dustbins. The easiest way of transportation is a flight from Nepalgunj to Juphal airport and almost 5-6 hours walk from there to the entry of Suligad.
