Bardiya National Park is the largest conserved area in the Bardiya district of Nepal. It lies in the western plains of Terai. It covers an area of 968 sq. km. Reptiles like gharial, mugger crocodile, and numerous fishes inhabit the river Babai and Karnali (the longest river in Nepal). Even Gangetic dolphins can survive in the rivers around the Babai valley.
